As you can imagine the equipment we sell changes from one season to another and keeping up to date with what’s new can be a headache at times. That’s why we invest a lot of time into training our staff. Last year as an end of season perk we sent them to Norway were they spent seven days ski touring and ice climbing this not only gave them a practical experience of using the equipment but also what gear performs the best.
We also sponsor the British Biathlon Ski team so an evening was arranged, for us to test out Roller skiing which gave us a better understanding of the two main techniques of cross country skiing, skating and classical styles. Twice a month during winter we run in house training sessions where our staff are trained on the latest information regarding specific product.
This winter will saw Steve our manager attend the International Trade show in Munich were he saw the other side to the trade, the buying, and got an advanced preview of what’s new for 2006!
The importance we place on training has a direct affect on the advice and guidance our staff give to our customers, which we place, a lot of importance to and our reputation.
