We're aware to achieve the best possible fitting boots may require from time to time some manipulation of the leather, plastic or indeed fabric to get the comfort you require. For example should you have extra wide ankles it may be necessary to create more space around the affected area. We do this by boiling the plastic or leather and place a contraption called a walker press over the offending area and under heat when the material of the boot is soft simply blow the boot into the correct position for your foot and release the pressure as it cools. We are one of the few places in the U.K. where this service is available. The custom fit chair is a tool that allows us to customise footbeds to a client's specific shape of foot. It's a continuation of a theme from the trim to fit foot beds which provide 50% reduction of stress in the foot, the custom fit foot beds will provide 90% reduction. This is achieved by heat treating and moulding the foot bed to the exact shape of the foot in an un-weighted position, when the footbed is cooled the client has a precise mould of their feet thus reducing heel lift, friction, and body alignment even further.

Almost all of our boots now come with a thermo moulded boot liner, but for those of you who have a slightly older model of Tele or Ski Mountaineering boot they can also be bought separately. Greatly reducing the overall weight of a boot, we can heat treat and mould the liner to the shape of your foot so along with Superfeet foot bed, and some boot modification you are sure to get the best possible chance of a tight fitting boot to give you all the performance you need.
