GERE are very rugged trousers designed for hard outdoor use. The 270 gr cordura lycra
mixture is virtually indestructible. The very high wind resistance gives good protection
even in high winds while still giving breathability that by far exceeds any laminates. They
are extremely water shedding with a permanent Super-DWR treatment that stands up to
80 washes.

Edge webbings on all cuffs. This is the first place a pair of trousers is damaged. Strong edge webbing makes the edges last a lot longer. The naked truth: The webbing normally outlasts the rest of the trousers, though it may become a little woolly after prolonged contact with Velcro. If you carefully use a lighter, you can burn the fuzz/woolliness away. It melts and shrinks together and the webbing looks new again.

Steel stirrups. Klattermusen have used webbings, cords, neoprene straps and steel wires to fasten the gaiters to the boots and broken them all in a surprisingly short time. Something had to be done! So they came up with the steel stirrup and rubber cord which is still the only construction we have seen that actually does the job. It will never break and is always easy to remove, even when clogged with ice. If the rubber cord breaks it is easy to repair in the field. Make sure that the open hook is on the outside and facing backwards, as in the picture. It is delivered straight so you can bend is to fit your boot size exactly. If necessary, you can close the inside eye a little extra after fitting it. The naked truth: If you break the rubber cord, just tie a knot and keep going.

On most garments there is a small, triangle-shaped, reflective Klättermusen logo. Some people mistake it for some kind of reinforcement. The truth is that it is the logo which is made from a reflective material that is highly reflective at night. Be seen in the dark!
